STAB AND GAB - NEEDLEFELTING WORKSHOP
9th AUGUST
TUTOR: HEATHER BROWNThis informal workshop is great for beginners as well as folk who have some experience. You can either choose to join in the themed project of the week or work on your own project over multiple sessions. Our tutor Heather is a craft expert with lots of knowledge to share with you.
If you have felting materials or equipment, please bring them along. However, the only thing you truly need to take part is enthusiasm, as we’ll have everything you will need to start felting.

LARGE SCALE STILL LIFE DRAWING
16th AUGUST
TUTOR: NEWTON ROSSEven if still life isn’t your usual way to get creative, drawing from life instead of a photo will develop your skills as an artist.
Working from a still life setup we will start with a few warm up drawings working mainly in charcoal considering format, composition and mark making before moving onto a large scale drawing.
Some materials provided, but if you wish to mix up the media feel free to bring your own.
All levels of experience welcome!

STILL LIFE IN OIL PASTELS
23rd AUGUST
TUTOR: NEWTON ROSSAs an introduction to oil pastels we will start the session exploring ways of applying pastels, blending colours, mark making and a few other techniques to make an exciting and lively drawing/painting.
You need to bring oil pastels, surfaces to draw/paint on, painting knife, brushes, cotton buds and paper towels.
Some materials provided.All levels of experience welcome!

INTRODUCTION TO THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF DESIGN
CREATIVE CONFIDENCE - SESSION 1
30th AUGUST
TUTOR: BARBARA MACKIEWant to develop greater creative confidence? Our new course on Design & Composition is for you!
Over 4 sessions August to November, each with its own theme, your skills and confidence will increase.
Our first session will focus on looking at the building blocks of design, such as shape, colour, value, space, form and texture. You will use these to create visual compositions and communicate ideas.
All levels of experience welcome!
